85 Years of Gymea Bay Public School

To celebrate the 85^th Anniversary of Gymea Bay Public School on the 17^th August 2020, our incredible technology teacher, Sarah Kauffman, has written and compiled this extensive guide to the history of the school.

We would like to acknowledge the great effort of former GBPS Assistant Principal Melissa Bird and historian Kim Hatherly who started this project two years ago. A special thank you to Colin Burgess, for his detailed contributions and insight from his time as a student at GBPS in the 1950s. Thank you also to former teacher Don Parker, who provided a wealth of great stories from over 30 years of teaching at the school!
